Commemorating the original football boots that dominated in Japan and South Korea in the Summer of 2002, the Vapor IX 02M is the second of four World Cup inspired Mercurial releases from Nike. Worn by El Fenómeno as he scored 8 goals - including both in the final - and won the Golden Boot, the trademark wave design of the 2002 boot is subtly referenced on the Nike branding of this new Vapor.

Designed by Nike to produce enhanced friction, the Speed Control texture on the upper of the Mercurial IX football boots gives you the confidence to perform at speed.

Revolutionary Nike ACC technology ensures the speed control texture is as effective in wet conditions as it is in dry weather for unrivalled all conditions control.

Exuding comfort, the soft and supple Nike Vapor IX upper forms to the foot for the best possible fit while a lightweight perforated sockliner with textile cloth mirrors the foot's natural shape to create low profile cushioning.

Consisting of two layers of glass fiber fused together for a flexible forefoot, the lightweight and durable soleplate grants excellent energy return during push off from the ground.

A mix of exchangeable aluminium screw-in studs and fixed TPU studs provides the Mercurial Vapor IX SG-Pro with quick penetration, release and traction on soft ground.

A central stud at one of the last points of contact with the ground prevent the boot from slipping, critical during high speed sprinting. Small toe-off traction at the tip of the forefoot make instant bursts of speed easier.
